HARLOW 5 -A-SIDE TOURNAMENT 11th July 2004 - Mark Hall School, Harlow.
Sunday 11th July saw the ladies two teams compete in the Harlow 5-a-side Tournament. With thirteen teams in total competing in the Women's Open Section the Bowers A & B teams both successfully finished top of their groups to lead them into the Semi Finals - which luckily enough was not against each other. The Bower's "B" succesfully knocked out Southend United Ladies "A" 2 -1 on penaties after finishing extra time 1-1 to secure their spot in the Final. Across the other side on Pitch 2 the Bowers "A" team gave Colchester Town LFC their second only defeat of the day by winning 3 - 0 - which only meant one thing - An all Bower's Final !! After being asked if they did want to actually play all girls agreed that they had come this far - so why ever not and what a excellent final was had by all . Bowers "B" beat the Bower's "A" 1-0 to claim their winners medals Well done to all the girls who took part in today's tournament & all those that came to support - an excellent day was had by all. With our first trophy of the season firmly under our belts lets ensure that this is the first of many - we could not have asked for a better start to the season. Group 1 - Bower's & Pitsea LFC " B" team = Ruth Bottomley, Julie McLauchlan, Rachel McGrath, Rebecca Edwards, Jo Taylor, Rachel Grayson & Laura Allen.
